BRIDE Boutique to Expand and Relocate This Summer

Los Angeles, Calif. (July 2014) — On August 1, 2014, BRIDE Boutique will begin renovations and expansion at its new Echo Park location at 1528½ Sunset Boulevard (formerly Goodhead Salon), slated to re-open in time for the fall bridal season.

BRIDE has created a 30 day Kickstarter campaign designed to promote and raise funds that will aid in its relocation and growth.

Specializing in non-traditional wedding attire, BRIDE boutique features vintage gowns, independent designer collections, and custom bridal wear by owner Maria Luciana Diaz. BRIDE’s trendsetting indie designer collections are comprised of handcrafted, made-to-order, small-batch dresses brides-to-be won’t find anywhere else.

Open for just over one year, BRIDE has been in high demand, regularly appearing in fashion, wedding, and lifestyle publications, such as Refinery 29, Style Me Pretty, and C Magazine. BRIDE has also been featured on NBC’s Today Show, and the business touts a five-star rating on Yelp.

BRIDE’S new 900-square-foot brick and mortar is three times larger than its former space and will allow Diaz to carry a wider selection of indie designer collections, which in turn will help impact the SMB fashion community. Diaz will also be able to have her office and workshop under the same roof as her showroom.

The funds raised via the BRIDE Kickstarter campaign will go toward renovating and decorating the new showroom and fitting room, building the in-store work studio and office, purchasing new sewing machinery and retail supplies, hiring a local artist to hand-paint new storefront signage, and, most notably, purchasing more vintage, independent designer, and eco-friendly inventory.

Diaz’s ethos is to be “green” whenever possible, carrying fair-trade collections made from recycled fabrics, organic cottons, and locally sourced, chemical-free, hand-woven silks. And with her collection of vintage gowns that spans the twentieth century, Diaz is a true curator of wedding history. She also prides herself on re-purposing heirloom gowns that have been handed down from mothers, grandmothers, and even great-grandmothers, up-cycling and restoring the dresses of yesteryear and infusing a contemporary aesthetic.

BRIDE offers professional tailoring services for all gowns, including vintage dresses, and provides intimate one-on-one consultations and fittings in a studio setting, available by appointment only.

This Kickstarter campaign will only be funded if at least $10,000 is pledged by Fri, Jul 25 2014 3:52 PM EDT. Feel free to check out more about the campaign on Maria’s , , , and pages. Those pages will follow everything from new gowns to daily work, as BRIDE strives to stay vintage, eco, and independent.
