The Sesame works with nearly any type of deadbolt, installs in seconds (literally) and hits Kickstart today for $89.
Sesame connects to your phone via Bluetooth or to the internet with an additional Wi-Fi access point. A quick tap within the app and your Sesame magically unlocks your door. If you don’t want to take out your phone, you can use a special knock — either on your phone or on your door — and Sesame instantly unlocks.
Unlike many other similar devices that require more time and bulky hardware to install, Sesame simply fits over your current deadbolt and sticks to your door. There’s no drilling or screwing, so it only takes a few seconds.
Sesame also allows you to share access for guests, even letting you control when they have access. You’ll be able to see the exact movement of your lock within the app as well, as Sesame syncs up the exact angle in which your lock turns.
If you’re looking to get in on the fun, you can do so today via Kickstarter for as little as $89. Sesame will be available in black, white, silver, and pink, and shipments will begin in May of this year.
